Iris and I have been friends for about a year. She translates some text for me to Mandarin sometimes. I help in turn with other ideas. She has lovely earrings available for sale. Here are pictures and how to contact her: iris.lelik@gmail.com

Email Iris with any questions. I am not the seller. I am the friend of the seller.

Fedex Live CS Chat with Angel, Print and Share Screen

I like it. I tried it. Fast resolution of the problem was the result of ability to share screen. Accountability is the result of my ability to print the chat, but I didn't. Angel did a great job.

Suzanne Danna's Business Advice

The DIDX care team are enablers of new start-ups from 170 nations and hopefully the rest soon. I have worked remotely for almost eleven years with a team that is situated in as many as six nations at one time. I'm contemplating right now... why has it been so much joy for me? Pride in what the services that our company provides, in the professional growth of each employee through time, listening to the business plans of thousands of hopeful entrepreneurs and traditional telecoms in every nook and cranny of Earth and being a part of helping them make their goals and dreams reality. One of them asked me for my advice Friday.

My advice? Nothing to do with telecommunications or business in any way...

1. Children are a reminder for us to do and be good. Absolutely precious and thought-provoking.
2. As Dexter taught me, "Here we go YOYO," at the beginning of tough tasks and, "Pidda Hut," when they are over.
3. Collaborate with your competitors. 1 2
4. Don't laugh about things like "scent over IP." 1 2
5. Print your business cards on light colored paper that are easy to write on.
6. A healthy combination of collaboration, exhibition, and observance is better than majority emphasis on just one of them.
7. Don't let yourself become the lead character in "The Emperor's New Clothes."
8. Keep your nose down. The farther the nose rises, the more likely your friends will become your enemies.
9. You do not have to be everywhere at once, but a virtual phone line may help. ;-) Ask your telecom provider for one.
10. Find a song you can hum or sing to yourself during tough times like "Further Along," "All You Need is Love," or fill in the blank ___________________.
11. Let everything be about them and not you.
12. Be brave and that means you have to tell the truth and face the truth even though it may be scary and uncomfortable.

Nigerian IT & Telecom Networks on Linkedin DID Discussion

Before 2010, I have plans to interview directors of "communications comissions" of different African nations which will be posted at http://www.didx.net/podcast. I met a few of them at ITW 2008 and ITEXPO East 2009 whom I have stayed in touch with. Right now, there is a discussion on LinkedIn about Zain's choice of Aircom to produce 2G and 3G in Nigeria. The conversation has turned to Nigerian DID needed on DIDX.net. Would you join that discussion group on Linkedin and help out? It's at http://www.linkedin.com/newsArticle?viewDiscussion=&articleID=83824627&gid=1777935.

Bill McCarthy Shares Ideas on International Business

Listen to the DIDX podcast of Bill who is CEO of Vocati Communications.

On the Vocati Communications blog, he mentions a few more words on the value of DIDX for IP communications' companies and how that wholesale platform enables the valuable end users to have a local presence where they need to in the world:

The person doing the interview was very generous and very kind. We are a huge fan of DIDX and what they do. Anyone visiting the page can purchase DIDs from any of the countries mentioned (and many more) from us or directly from DiDx (but what fun would that be?)

We are going to do a Spanish Version of this interview with Andres Acero, the other founder and Chief Operations Officer Worldwide and will share his thoughts with the listeners of this podcast. This is scheduled for December so stay tune!

I Want QUALITY, Who Cares about QUANTITY?

First, this blog post is not targeted at one person. It is targeted at every person who puts QUANTITY ahead of QUALITY. It does not work, you all! It does not work.

Why is there this mad rush for quantity? Am I right? Large quantities of people surround you, pushing you, expecting you to amass large quantities of:

1. Twitter followers
2. Facebook friends
3. Multi-tasking at work and play
4. Cell phones
5. Social networking memberships
6. Sales leads
7. How MANY INSTANT MESSENGER WINDOWS can you have going at one time?
8. How MANY services and products can your company provide at one time?
9. Let's see how many projects you can take part in at one time for your company?

Results: NO QUALITY! This is my rant for this month. Those who choose QUANTITY. I am not sorry to say, I do not. I choose QUALITY.

I'm going to run a quality 3 miles in my neighborhood, I'll make a quality cup of coffee with just a little sugar, and I will dig into my quality calls, emails, projects, press releases, website debugging, award applications, HR training, new hosted rebranded client contracts, work for global conferences, etc. etc. etc.

QUALITY! Does everybody hear me? Love y'all. Gotta run!

Thank you, SpeechPhone, DIDX Team and Partners

Thank you, Valdi Best BikePhone, and SpeechPhone. Super Technologies, Inc., right now, has one of the most dynamite, customer-satisfaction oriented teams ever. Our DIDX partners (wholesale buyers and sellers) are a huge part of the reason we are able to provide that one interop that Valdi writes my Linkedin reference about, for one interconnect with 12,000 other providers from 170 countries, 17 million SIP DIDs from 60 nations. I want to thank them all especially.

I recommend that you recommend at least one person per week on Linkedin who you can share a truthfully positive professional reference.

Time to go run! A bunch of us in the IP communications industry and outside are running either the whole or half Mardi Gras Rock n Roll Marathon in New Orleans, LA on Feb. 28, 2009. You can register on the Competitor site and be in touch with others training for it on Facebook with me!

ITGulfcoast Notes 75% UWF Executive Software Engineering Masters Scholarships

One of the most enjoyable experiences in my life was being Chairman of the ITGulfcoast in the year 2007. The organization encourages innovation, business and technical collaborations and developements, and information sharing and gathering. Just got an email from them about what's up in Northwest Florida such as UWF is accepting applications for Executive Software Engineering Masters program. 75% Scholarships available!

"The University of West Florida, Computer Science department is still accepting applications for the Spring 2010 Executive Software Engineering program which starts January 7, 2010. This intensive program allows full-time students to attain a Master of Science in Computer Science - Software Engineering specialization fully online, within one calendar year. Tuition scholarships for 75% of student's tuition through the entire degree program have been provided by Florida's Great Northwest. Although the deadline for applications is approaching within the next two weeks, it is not too late for interested Florida residents with intent to seek employment in Northwest Florida to apply. Details are available at http://uwf.edu/computerscience/graduate/newse.cfm"

This is an excellent opportunity if you've been thinking about attending graduate school. The first class participating in this program is in their home stretch and will graduate in December 2009.

Highhlights of the program are:
It's a relatively short program (12 months and you have an MS degree).
The entire program is online with the exception of a few orientation sessions.
This is a full-time program and the pace is intense. But it's only for one year! It is hard to work full-time and stay on top of school work.

I remember juggling Monday and Wednesday 5-10 PM MA classes in Media Education at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, being a mother, working full-time on an Internet business, and working full-time at George Washington Carver Middle School in Century, Florida as a media specialist and gifted studies teacher. How? I don't remember. I was in my 30s and 40s at that time, younger. ;-)

How many Mb are in a Gb?

I'm in a discussion at the Starbuck's in the Destin Commons in Florida. My husband and I are her for the Ironman Triathlon he is participating in. I'm working, but took a break to discuss the following ... One lady has a Verizon wireless USB card. She says she has used 802.539 Mb of her 5Gb allocated to her plan. She wants to know how many MB are in 1 Gb. She's worried that she's almost there. As I can remember the following is true, but there is quite an argument here so maybe I'm wrong?

1024 bytes is equal to 1Kb

1024 Kb is equal to 1 Mb

1024 Mb is equal to 1 Gb

Right?
