Viddler Video Ad-supported and Paid Versions, No limit on Length

Is there a limit to the size of the videos I can upload to http://www.viddler.com?
Right now, the limit is 500 MB (no length limit) per video, and there is no limit to the total number of videos uploaded. I'm enjoying Viddler as another great way to learn, share, collaborate, and develop business.

Protect Children from OR in Cyber Space?

Dozens of bloggers, young and old, have responded with their ideas about ITU's World Telecommunications and Information Society Day's theme, "Protecting Children in Cyberspace" via video, after our company Super Technologies, Inc. invited them to do so! I'd like to thank Jehan Ara, president of PASHA, for helping me get the word out. We're showcasing a few here...

Even I toggled between "Protect children from cyber space," like the gentleman at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jMT2DkrHgU and "Protect children in cyber space." But much good collaboration takes place on the Internet where young people can gain important career skills and social networks quite safely. At the same time, there are some people who use the Internet in ways that may harm others, especially children, adults toward and even children toward children. The latter usually involves net bullying. A pretty serious topic itself! (Mohammad Nawaz is a technology consultant and blogger.)

The young lady at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWb_e_IHSGE emphasizes to teach parents first and secondly the children about the Internet. But what? First, help children to understand that they are not anonymous while surfing the Internet. Whatever they share publicly on the Internet... is public. Potential Internet predators search for as much information as they can about the "victim" they have interest in. Parents need to keep the lines of communication open so that children can talk to them about what happens when they are using the Internet. Round Two: Boxee vs Hulu

Just got this news while talking with my fiddler/violin/Pensacola Symphony playing friend Francis trying Ekiga an open source voip application formerly known as GnomeMeeting. Watch the boxing excitement in the ring with Boxee and Hulu duking it out. Hulu... still keeping its "internet TV" fists closed. Currently only USA viewers can watch Hulu online. Boxee used an RSS feeder to include worldwide viewers, but last Friday, Hulu blocked Boxee again!

But keep in mind, Victory is achieved if the opponent is knocked down and unable to get up before the referee counts to ten seconds (a Knockout, or KO) or if the opponent is deemed too injured to continue (a Technical Knockout, or TKO).

Nihari, Telecom Billboards, and Empowerment of Internet

Thanks to Viddler.com, we were finally able to upload a copy of my presentation given at ITCN Asia 2008 in Karachi, Pakistan where 127,000 individuals attended and around 200 exhibited. I was definitely excited about the opportunity to speak among Asia's brightest telecom, government, technology-related minds.

Pakistan is a trend-setter in telecommunications. Its Wateen provides countrywide WIMAX, the first in the world to do this. PTCL offers countrywide IPTV, another world first. The price of a call to the USA from a Pakistan cell phone is around 1 cent per minute and SMS is commonly used, included in your package. Ufone, Chinamobile (I used Zong while there, great deal), Mobilink, and other cell phone services offer more services at lower rates than any cell phone services in the United States.

While in Pakistan, I visited with each of these companies at their offices as well as Telenor, Telecard, Hazara Telecom and more.

My stop in Pakistan was one of many stops around the world in August 2008 where my goals were to visit current and potential clients, suppliers, and the world's telecommunications think tank. Next time, I'm bringing my colleagues Steve Cayona, Anna Hollis, Sergey Okhapkin, and Lisa-anne Routley and any of the others who are ready for a global trip.
