Will TMCNET.com publish this press release?

Beginning September 1, 2010, every press release I have applied to have accepted on www.tmcnet.com were not accepted. I have suggested 7 press releases and thought they would be published because each one received a web response like in the picture you see on this blog post, but they were not. I have emailed people on the staff, tweeted about it, etc. No response. They are usually really awesome ...

(On October 25, 2010, Erik Linask of TMC discovered the problem and all is fixed. Our press releases are now accepted again!)

From Jan. 1, 2008 - August 31, 2010 we were able to publish about 33 press releases on TMCNET, one of our favorite websites. We often recommend companies to buy channels there, we congratulate those who do, and heavily promote the ITEXPO conferences because we like them and have gained many DIDX customers and Call Forward Management customers through them.

Here is a screenshot of the promise of the most recent one for ... "Mobile Monday and DIDX Team Up at Gitex 2010 in Dubai." It should be posted at http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2010/10/18/5075695.htm. Let's see. Just another Mobile Monday.

Well, it is October 19, 2010 Tuesday the next day ... and it still is not published. I'll check again tomorrow.

Closing your VoIP Company, Have Some Integrity

FCC says VoIP companies cannot just shut down without reasonable notice. Many are angry about this, believing this is just one more instance where a government department is interfering with the public Internet and entrepreneurship in general, but a quality company, whether VoIP-related or not should do the right thing when they know they have to go out of business; give a notice and even better, help their wholesale and retail clients through the transition as in for example, LNP.

Examples are Digilinea suddenly was not available via phone, email or any method of communication. They appeared to be such a strong company. They had an excellent customer service team. Something must have gone wrong, but when they "disappeared" with no notice, it hurt a few dozen thousand wholesale clients and millions of end-users. There are other companies who have done almost the same, and when we, the IP communications industry tried to port their numbers to other qualified providers, they were not helpful and in some cases, threatened all of us. WT hmm... O?

A company who did the right thing was I3 Networks. Their CEO informed everyone with plenty of advance notice and did everything he could to help all clients to have the smoothest transition possible when it had to close shop. That's integrity.

Integrity is Proven When the Going Gets Tough

Just a simple blog post from a simple woman ... whether we go through...

1. bankruptcy
2. losing a loved one
3. feeling jealous
4. going out of business
5. can't keep a promise we made
6. making difficult decisions... this or that
7. when we are caught doing something wrong
8. when we are criticized (this is the one I have to work on)
9. when things are not what we thought they are
10. when people make fun of us
11. when people ignore us
12. when people brush us off
13. when people judge us by something other than our actions such as appearance, religion, nationality, etc.
14. when we are denied something we really want

... the best way to prove our integrity is to keep our heads up and communicate and tell the truth. Hiding is cruel, bad business, and low. Don't run away. If you have to leave, at least make it as easy as possible for those you are leaving: wholesale customers, family, neighbors, country, retail clients...

I added this post just now as I think back over my own life and over our years in business as Super Technologies, Inc. I need to get back to work on some articles, conference items, networking with DIDX members, and smiling about Steve Cayona's new announcement of remission from lung cancer. Aloha, Steve!!!
